How will the City of Redding benefit from creating a city identity/brand?

How is this project being funded?

The funding is being raised privately by the Forward Redding Foundation 501(c)3 of the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce.

How long will this project take?

The formula on of the action plan and the first phase of implementation should take approximately 18-24 months. The brand strategy and its outcomes should be applicable for over a decade.

Will Redding citizens be able to influence the process?

There will be an online community survey for Redding residents to offer their insight and opinions.  Everyone is encouraged to participate.

Who usually leads a branding initiative for a city?

City branding projects are usually initiated by a Chamber of Commerce, Visitors Bureau, or Economic Development Corporation.  In our community the Chamber is the lead organization and the Brand Redding Initiative is strongly supported by both The Redding Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Shasta Economic Development Corporation.

What are tangible ways the new brand will be applied?

This will depend on the findings of the place-branding firm, along with the community input and collaboration phases. We anticipate the action plan will include items associated with messaging, aesthetics and unique experiences in and around our city.
